The Challenges of a Successful Rocket Flight

Balistic Recovery

People always ask me, “what is the deal with the rockets, how hard can it be”. WHAT! How dare someone imply that this is some kind of toy hobby! What answer can I give that such ignorance will understand? The thrill of hobby rocketry is the challenge of building and flying your rocket project and successfully recovering it without damage. It takes a tremendous amount of understanding of aerodynamics, construction techniques, advanced math, propellant characteristics, government approvals, and sometimes a little luck. We are not rocket scientists. We are hobby rocket enthusiasts who enjoy these challenges. So here I go, for those that do not quite understand the challenges or where to begin, this pub is for you.
